    • Worcester is home to the Red Sox' AAA affiliate who play at the brand new Polar Park 

    • Worcester also is hoem to the Railers, a minor league hockey team, and the Pirates, an indoor football team

    • Dozens of local colleges have football, basketball, hockey and more, including Boston University, Boston College, UMass Amherst, Harvard, Holy Cross and more.

    • The Boston Marathon starts in Hopkinton every Partriot's Day in the spring

    • Worcester is famous for its numerous traditional diners, highlighted by Miss Worcester whose french toast has been seen on the Food Network 

    • The local craft beer scene is widespread and highlighted by Tree House brewing company whose New England IPAS are critically acclaimed throughout the country.

    • Many residents enjoy skiing throughout the winter months and there is no shortage of options nearby

    • Wachusett Mountain is about a half hour drive from the hospital 

    • Major ski resorts in Vermont and New Hampshire are 2-3 hours away
